Marshfield Warranty Defined

Our warranty applies to new Marshfield® upholstered furniture and is extended to the consumer who makes the original purchase.  Marshfield® warrants the individual furniture components to be free of defects in material and manufacturing for the length of the time specified.  This warranty applies under conditions of normal household usage and does not apply to damage resulting from negligence, misuse, exposure, accidents, or commercial usage.  Under the terms of this limited warranty, Marshfield® retains the option to repair or replace or refuse the damaged item.

Warranties not expressly stated herein, including without limitation, any implied warranties or merchantability and fitness for purpose are excluded and disclaimed by Modern of Marshfield®, Inc.

All claims for service must be accompanied by proof of purchase (dealer invoice from retailer and bill of sale from end customer).

Any claim for service under the warranty must be made through the retail dealer where the furniture was purchased.  If the original selling dealer is not assessable, please contact Marshfield® Furniture for assistance.  Marshfield® will pay shipping charges between the dealer and the factory only if the piece is determined to be defective in material or manufacturing based on the terms of the warranty.

FABRIC CARE

Marshfield® Furniture combines careful production techniques with fine upholstery fabric to build furniture that looks good and is built to last.  The proper care of furniture will contribute to its continued good looks.  If in doubt about cleaning, consult an authorized Marshfield® Dealer for proper cleaning instructions.

Caring for furniture requires the following steps.

Vacuum or brush lightly to remove dust and grime.
Turn cushions regularly.  This provides uniform wear of fabric and filling and reduces cover shift on the cushion cores.
Remove dust, dirt, and debris from the deck.
Plump pillows and turn on a regular basis.
Clean spills immediately following recommended cleaning instructions.
Never remove cushion covers for dry cleaning or washing, even though they may have zippers.
Keep upholstered furniture away from direct sunlight to avoid fading.
Avoid placing newspapers on upholstered furniture to prevent ink from getting on the fabric.
Do not use nail polish or remover, mercurochrome, iodine, red-dyed drinks, etc., around upholstered furniture, as they can cause permanent damage to fabric.
Contact a professional furniture cleaning service to remove overall soil or stains.
Some materials used in upholstery will burn rapidly and emit toxic gases when ignited.  Use care when smoking, burning candles, or placing furniture near a fireplace.

CLEANING

The furniture industry has adopted standard coding to indicate the proper cleaning method for upholstery fabrics.  Always pretest a small area before cleaning the entire piece of furniture.

DC: Dry Clean Only.

S: Clean only with dry cleaning solvent. Do not saturate. Do not use water. Pile fabrics may require brushing to restore appearance. Cushion covers should not be removed and dry cleaned.

W: Clean only with water-based shampoo or foam upholstery cleaner. Do not over wet. Do not use solvents to spot clean. Pile fabrics may require brushing to restore appearance. Cushion covers should not be removed and laundered.

WS: Spot clean with upholstery shampoo, foam from a mild detergent, or mild dry cleaning solvent. Do not saturate with liquid. Pile fabrics may require brushing to restore appearance. Cushion covers should not be removed and dry cleaned.

V: Do not clean with water or solvent-based cleaner. Use vacuuming or light brushing only.

LEATHER

Soiled areas should be cleaned with Leather Master products.  Use of any other after sale leather treatment products invalidate this warranty.  Regular dusting with damp, clean cloth is advised.
